Our supreme need, our only need, is to know God   Leave a comment

A soul kept alive in God, and for Him, amid sin’s, Satan’s, and the world’s heart-killing influence –is a miracle of omnipotent grace!

I found this little gem somewhere internet. And it just stuck with me. Because its true, its impossible for any man, woman or child still walking in this mortal frame to have spiritual life in them, when the moment you are born, the tendency to sin is just there..Psalm 51 verse 5 puts it well, “Surely I was sinful at birth, from the time my mother conceived me, ….To say then that our first tendency is to rebel against all that God is, and to go and do our own thing, is not exaggerated. Ephesians 2:1 Also make this point, “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins. It si dreadful for the human soul to think of itself as inherently prone to wickedness but it has been my experience in my own life and what I have observed in the life others I live and work with.
Mostly our first reaction is to do what pleases us, and not to consider what pleases God. Verse 3 of Ephesians 2 carries this further…
All of us lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts.
Being inherently sinful, spiritually dead and depraved to the core are not popular ideas among even Christians but they are biblical. Deception runs deep. Jeremiah 17:5 puts it this way…”The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure, who can understand it?
What is left to do, is to run from the wrath to come, for certainly the Wrath of God is revealed form heaven against the wickedness of men. A soul needs its life from God, who alone can make the dead live. It is to my amazement and surprise that I am saved at all, to A Word from D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones: brings comfort and direction….
Our supreme need, our only need, is to know God, the living God, and the power of his
might. We need nothing else. It is just that, the power of the living God, to know that
the living God is among us and that nothing else matters…
A soul must be kept alive by God, to God’s Glory. We get the help and he gets the Glory. So every human needs cry to God, “be merciful to me O God, I am a sinner!” Before he can expect a mercifull response from his Maker. Omnipotent grace is the only hope for a every man alive.
Repent therefore for the Mercy of our God is still freely available, today is for you the day of salvation. He is your hope and your strong consolation
